I am a stabilizer, loyal, and committed to helping others. as young adult I would care for others children due to parental addiction. It drove me to wanting to attend college to be able to help other in time of need from an emotional level. Being a widow at age 24, it not only opened my eyes to how precious life is but to see how tragedy can affect steps life int the blink of an eye. Sometimes it can be the smallest issues in life to some however, the person going through the issue is a mountain one must climb over.

I began my journey to helping others over twenty years ago. My journey began working and a dialysis unit. From there I traveled to Easter Seals where I was the Independent Living Instructor where I assisted persons with disabilities to learn ways to deal, in the community, with their inability. Prior to then I volunteered with Youth Guard where I consulted high risk juveniles. I was employed at the Eight O One house where I worked with adolescents with multiple mental health issues. The last nineteen years I spent as a Director of social services for Genesis Rehab. During my time there I empowered the elder to be able to return to the community and live independently. I supported the Veterans and assisted them in signing up for benefits they never knew they were entitled to. I counseled employees and patients for a variety of issues. I am certified as a Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and a Mental Health Screener for the state of Delaware. I also do coverage at local hospitals performing assessments for those who have mental health issues or substance abuse including suicidal or homicidal thoughts.

Personal Philosophy

My personal philosophy of life is to be kind and open-minded in all situations. My personality is suited for therapy and counseling by working with individuals to enable them to grow in return to their normal level of functioning. Individuals are born with a blank slate and create who they become. There are situations in life that one endures that was not a choice. I do believe that one has a choice in life. One can choose to be happy or choose to be sad. No one can make you angry or happy it comes from within. I choose to make changes and no excuses.
