Path

I always knew I would go to college and make something of myself, but I never knew what I wanted to do. Like so many people I entered college, attending Rutgers University, searching for my path in life. I minored in psychology because I found it incredibly interesting, and one day, while learning about mental health disorders, it hit me that I should be a counselor. I have always felt driven to help other people, and have always wanted to give a part of myself to make the world a brighter place for others, so I decided to double major to study psychology in depth. I have seen so many loved ones struggle with substance abuse and mental health disorders, and I want to make a difference in the lives of those who need a hand to reach out from the darkness and pull them up. From there, I entered the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Wilmington University and have since earned my LPCMH. Now I have the opportunity to work with new people every day and help others harness the skills and power they already possess to create wellness for themselves.

Experience

I received my Bachelor's Degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and entered the Wilmington University Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master's of Science Program. While at Wilmington University, I completed my Practicum and Internship at Corsica River Mental Health Services in Centreville, Maryland. Upon my graduation, I began working at A Center for Mental Wellness, where I earned my LPCMH and stayed until I began with Mental Edge Counseling in December of 2018. I specialize in therapy with teenagers and adults with mental health and substance abuse diagnoses and love working with the LGBTQ community. Whether you have severe symptoms or are looking for a mental tune-up, I am always excited to meet new clients.

Personal Philosophy

I am a straightforward counselor who forms a partnership with clients to help them achieve their goals. Therapy isn't about a counselor telling you what to do, it's about us working as a team to accomplish the goals you set for yourself. Listening and forming a trusting relationship is the beginning, and from there I help clients achieve and maintain stability and reach for things they never thought possible. I rely heavily on proven techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and combine my extensive training with my ability to ensure clients feel understood and explore unique solutions and ideas to travel with clients on their journey to wellness!
