“Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place."

-Iain Thomas

I operate from a Systems Theory perspective, looking at the big picture to get a full understanding of what is going on. I never look at people as just their diagnosis, because we all go through hardships in life and deserve to be heard, validated, and appreciated for who we are. I promote healthy and genuine connections with loved ones, while focusing on the importance of healthy communication so that everyone’s needs can be heard and met. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients to come up with goals and interventions that suit their preferences and personal situations.

When it comes to couples, I enjoy using the Gottman Method because of its scientific backing and the many couples who have had success navigating the difficulties of marriage and relationships. My goal is providing tools that couples can use on their own to help strengthen the relationship and deepen the connection between partners.

I have always been the type of person that people felt they could talk to. People I hardly knew would feel comfortable sharing their deepest hurts with me, which inspired my desire to help heal those emotional wounds. I started out by getting my Bachelors of Science in Social Psychology but I really wanted to make a difference for couples and families. I decided that Marriage and Family Therapy was the way to go and attended a Master’s program at Abilene Christian University. I am currently working on a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in Military Families.I worked with a variety of clients during my on-site clinical training for my Master’s program, to include working with families, couples, the LGBTQ+ community, youth-centered programs, and a Batterer Intervention and Prevention program. I am also a military spouse with experience working with veterans, active duty, and their families.
