“ I was always looking outside myself for confidence and strength, but it comes from within. It is there all the time.”
—Anna Freud

I am Dr. Jennifer Kattau, PhD, a Postdoctoral Level Clinical Psychologist. I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX, in 2025. I earned my Master of Arts in Psychology from Hawaii Professional School of Psychology at Argosy University in 2017, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Delaware State University in 2007, and a Bachelor of Arts from Delaware State University in 2005.

I utilize an integrative approach to therapy, incorporating evidence-based interventions tailored to each individual’s needs and goals. I support clients in identifying and exploring thoughts, perceptions, and beliefs that may be contributing to emotional distress or behavioral patterns, while helping them develop effective coping strategies and increased self-awareness. I believe therapy is a collaborative process that empowers individuals to recognize their strengths, increase resilience, and move toward meaningful change.

My areas of clinical interest include Health Psychology, illness adjustment and coping, grief, trauma, Veterans and Military Culture, LGBTQ+ identities, mindfulness, coping skills development, and ADHD and executive functioning skills. I have experience working with individuals across the lifespan, from children and adolescents through older adulthood, including geriatric populations.

I value the opportunity to walk alongside individuals as they navigate difficult transitions, life stressors, and personal growth. My hope is that clients leave therapy feeling understood, supported, and more confident in their ability to manage challenges and pursue the life they value.
