Medication Management
Thoughtful medication support, personalized to YOU.
Medication Support, Built for YOU
We are so glad you have taken this important step toward supporting your mental health. Medication can be an important part of care, but it should never feel rushed, confusing, or impersonal. At Mental Edge Counseling, our medication management services are designed to provide compassionate, personalized psychiatric support in a safe and judgment-free environment.
Whether you are new to psychiatric care, continuing an established treatment plan, or seeking additional support alongside therapy, we are here to partner with you every step of the way. Our goal is to help you better understand your symptoms, treatment options, and ongoing medication needs so you feel informed, heard, and cared for throughout the process.
Things to Know
-
Medication management is an ongoing service with a qualified medication provider who evaluates symptoms, reviews medical and medication history, discusses treatment options, and monitors how medications are working over time.
This may include support for concerns such as:
Anxiety
Depression
ADHD
Mood changes
Trauma-related symptoms
Sleep concerns
Emotional regulation
Other mental health conditions where medication may be clinically appropriate
Medication is not one-size-fits-all. Our providers work with clients to consider their goals, symptoms, history, side effects, lifestyle, and overall wellness when developing or adjusting a treatment plan.
-
Your medication management appointment may include:
A review of current symptoms and concerns
Discussion of past or current medications
Review of medical history, allergies, and relevant health information
Education about possible medication options
Discussion of benefits, risks, side effects, and expectations
Ongoing follow-up to monitor progress and make adjustments when needed
If medication is recommended, your provider will explain the reasoning behind the recommendation and answer questions so you can make informed decisions about your care. Prescriptions are based on clinical judgment, medical necessity, and applicable prescribing regulations.
-
Mental health care works best when clients feel supported by a team. Medication management will be provided alongside therapy, depending on your needs. When appropriate and with proper consent, our medication providers may coordinate with therapists, primary care providers, or other members of your healthcare team to support continuity of care.
Our goal is not simply to prescribe medication. Our goal is to help you understand your care, track progress, and move toward improved stability, functioning, and quality of life.

Med Management Policy Highlights
Refill Requests
If you require a medication refill, please contact our office within 48 hours prior to running out of medication to allow your medication provider adequate time to review the request. Controlled substances will not be refilled early. If a prescription has been stolen, our office requires a police report to be on file. However, it is the discretion of the medication provider if the refill request will be granted.
Prescription Rewrite Fee
In the event that a medication provider has to rewrite a prescription because it has expired, there will a $15.00 prescription rewrite fee. This fee will need to be paid prior to picking up the prescription. Please be aware that this fee is not covered under insurance.
Late arrivals
Unfortunately, due to the time restraints, if you are more than five (5) minutes late to your medication management appointment, you will not be able to be seen. If applicable, this will result in a late cancellation fee of $100.00 and your appointment will need to be rescheduled. It will be up to the discretion of the medication prescriber if they will refill any medications refill request.
Prior Authorizations
If a prior authorization is required by your insurance company to cover a specific medication, please allow 72 business hours for the authorization to be received, reviewed, completed, and approved. You will need to allow for additional time if the prior authorization is denied. Our office will contact you once the authorization has been approved.
Pharmacy
Our office will only send prescriptions to one pharmacy. Please make sure that you have given the correct pharmacy information to your medication provider.
