“It’s not where you stand, but in what direction you are moving.” — Oliver Wendell Holmes

Hello, and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

I believe that every person is born whole and with absolute and equal value. Yet, as we move through life, our experiences and circumstances can sometimes create a veil over how we see ourselves. We may lose sight of our worth, our strengths, and our ability to create meaningful change.

My hope is to help you reconnect with those parts of yourself.

I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I see therapy as a collaborative journey. Your story is unique, and it is still being written. Together, we can explore your experiences, find your voice, and help you rediscover your worthiness, strengths, and capacity for growth. I believe that moving from surviving to thriving is one of the most liberating transformations we can experience. You already have many of the qualities and resources you need within you; my role is to help you find them, embrace them, and celebrate them.

My Path to Counseling

For as long as I can remember, I have been the person in my circle who friends turn to for a listening ear, support, and understanding. I have always been a creative, musical, expressive, and deeply empathetic person.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent 14 years working in music and theater. That experience taught me so much about creativity, collaboration, and the importance of understanding perspectives that may be very different from our own. Growing up in a bicultural household also shaped the way I see the world and gave me a deep appreciation for different cultures, experiences, and ways of life.

I love people. I believe each of us has unique gifts and qualities that can contribute to our own happiness and to the lives of others.

After 14 years in my first career, I felt a growing sense that I was being called in a different direction. At the time, I was working for my church, and I began to realize that counseling might be where I truly belonged. I returned to graduate school and earned my master's degree in counseling. From my very first day of graduate school, I knew I had found my calling—and I have never looked back.

Today, I bring the creativity, compassion, and hope I developed through my experiences in music and theater into my work with clients who are hurting, healing, growing, and searching to reconnect with themselves.

My Experience

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science degree in Community Counseling from Wilmington University. I have been practicing as a counselor for 16 years.

My professional experience has included working at Dover Behavioral Health Systems in both inpatient and Partial Hospitalization Program settings. I have also worked with the National Board for Certified Counselors as an item writer and subject matter expert. I am a National Certified Counselor and a member of the American Counseling Association.

I joined Mental Edge Counseling in the spring of 2019. I value the vision of this practice, the dedication of its clinicians, and our commitment to reaching and supporting the community.

A Step Forward

If you are considering therapy, I invite you to take that next step toward discovering your own healthy pathway. Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or simply ready for something to change, you do not have to navigate that journey alone.

I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story, and working together to help you move toward greater self-understanding, healing, and growth.

You are already on your way. Let’s discover where that path can lead together.
