“Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women.”
- Maya Angelou -
I want everyone to know that they have a voice. No matter how big or small. No matter if it shakes when they speak. They deserve to be heard. They need to know that their opinions matter. I believe that we have an opportunity to change the way the world views mental health and to end the associated stigma.
I started my journey in mental health when I was 17 years old. My first after school job was in a file room with paper charts. That part time job eventually turned into a full-time job where I started to learn additional administrative and billing duties and responsibilities. Although most of my experience has been in mental health, I also worked in a daycare setting, pain management billing, and professional hospital billing. However, I always found my way back to the mental health field. I am extremely passionate about this field and Mental Edge!

“The graveyards are full of people the world could not do without” - Elbert Hubbard
Personal Philosophy: My personal philosophy is built around a high work ethic, steady leadership with practical systems, and a deeply rooted desire to be of service to things bigger than myself. I believe people are capable of far more growth than they often realize, especially when they are surrounded by the right structure, support, and accountability. I try to approach life’s pressure & challenges with a calm demeanor, a sense of humor, and a willingness to do the hard work for the people around me. With a wide range of life experience, my values have settled into being the best human I can be while bringing out the best in others.
Path: My path into mental health came from seeing how much the right support system can change a person’s life. While therapy itself is deeply human, face-to-face work, the client experience is also shaped by everything happening behind the scenes: the first phone call, scheduling, billing, communication, follow-through, and the systems that keep care accessible and consistent. I care about this field because every smoother process, better system, and stronger team ultimately helps someone access & succeed with care during a difficult season of life. My role allows me to serve that mission from the operational side by developing the administrative team, strengthening the systems that support care, and helping clinicians stay focused on what they do best: helping people heal, grow, and move forward.
Experience: My experience in this field has been shaped by more than six years of working within Mental Edge Counseling, where I have grown alongside the practice and gained firsthand experience in the systems, people, and daily operations that make quality mental health care possible. Over that time, I have had the opportunity to oversee and/or work closely with the administrative, billing, clinical, medical, marketing, HR, & business-to-business relations aspects of the practice. This ultimately, has given me a deep respect for both the people receiving care and the people working hard to provide it. Outside of Mental Edge, my background in Wildland fire & aviation, emergency medicine, large-scale disaster incident management, & community training has strongly influenced how I approach this work. Those environments have taught me the value of calm decision-making, clear communication, strong systems, accountability, and taking care of the team so the team can take care of others.

I am one of the first faces you see when you walk into the office . I am always smiling, but I am very quiet. I have two kids. My current life goals include being the best me I can be; Wife, Mother, employee & Student. I have decided to FINALLY take the first steps in starting my education in Behavioral Science. I am currently a full time Nursing Assistant on the weekends. My heart is definitely in the right place to help everyone I come in contact with.

“Every little thing is gonna be alright!”
- Bob Marley-
My personal philosophy is “living a simple life". I try to be as frugal as I can be. Planting my own food and gardens, canning and making my own foods, drying herbs, and using the things around the house instead of always spending money. This is my kind of simplicity. I want to live and follow a peaceful way of living. Move slowly, work happily, show people how much you car for them. Let your light shine and hope others will follow.
I have worked in Customer Service for 40 years, most of my years spent at Dover Air Force Base. Starting out in the 436 Service Sq. at the lodging office. And then moving to the 436 Communication Sq. as a switch board operator helping many service men and women from all over the world the world to reach their families. What an honor and experience it was to work for our military installation.
